..so are you suggesting that if you kept getting colds and that riding in the rain was detrimental to your health, you'd keep doing it??
i wouldn't call him a wimp. he's pushing and testing personal and cultural boundaries, writing about it, and acknowledging or admitting when he might need to compromise . in order to stay alive.
